Fitting the tailgate wiper motor and detailing the shaft seal
1 - sealing the wiper motor shaft in the luggage compartment lid sheet with a rubber bushing; 2 - hose; 3 - rear wiper motor
Rear wiper blade attachment and rear window washer hose outlet
1 - brush assembly; 2 - nut M8; 3 - gasket 8.4x15x1.6; 4 - snaps into place
Since the installation of these parts began in 1997, vehicles manufactured in 1996 are not yet equipped with a rear window wiper and washer. The rear lid wiper is located on the left side of the lid. The wiper motor is attached to the inner cover plate with three bolts through rubber bushings that reduce noise by absorbing motor vibration. The driving element of the shaft is sealed in the surface sheet of the cover with a rubber bushing. The windshield wiper stroke is electronically controlled, providing a dual wiper function. By momentarily pressing the control lever of the right half of the combined switch under the steering wheel, the wiper is turned on with a delay between brush oscillations of 6 seconds. The next momentary pressing of the lever turns off the brush. The second function is activated by a longer press of the already mentioned lever. In this case, the function is activated, which consists in turning on the washer, and then the wiper. With one press of the switch, the brush makes three vibrations. The electrical wiring is connected by a four-pole connector located on the motor housing.
The wiper is equipped with an automatic run to its original position, as well as a fuse that turns off the electric motor when the brush is blocked (for example, the brush is frozen to the glass, etc.). The roller on which the brush is fixed is hollow and has outlets in the upper and lower parts for fitting glass washer hoses. In the lower part, a tip is screwed with an outlet rotated by 90°in relation to the roller. The outlet has a nozzle that prevents the hose from jumping off. The output at the upper end of the roller has a nozzle on which the hose tip is fixed. Liquid flows through the hose to the nozzles placed on the brush. The connection is closed with a hinged brush cover.
