Attention! When working on airbags, observe the general safety regulations for handling the pyrotechnic modules for airbags, seat belt pretensioners and the battery disconnector.
Disconnect battery wire to ground. Set the steering wheel to the lowest position. Fully pull out the steering wheel until it stops. Turn the steering wheel so that one of the holes - see Arrows are on top.
Using, for example, a screwdriver (length no more than 170 mm with a sting no wider than 5 mm) Unlock spring -1- for securing airbag module -2-.
Note: When unlocking, pay attention to the not to damage the wiring.
Turn the steering wheel 180°and repeat the process on the opposite side of the steering wheel. Return steering wheel to center position (wheels in straight ahead position). Carefully raise the airbag -3- slightly above the steering wheel. Pull out and press lock -2- -arrow-, disconnect connector -1-. Equipment variant with multifunction steering wheel: Disconnect connector.
Carefully! Lay the airbag module soft side up.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Check that the connectors are well connected and click into place audibly. Make sure that the wires are not pinched anywhere.
Place the driver's airbag module -1- on the steering wheel and press it in at the edges on both sides until it clicks audibly -arrows-.
