Parts and components of the camshaft drive chain (Skoda Octavia 5E)

Note: After working with chain drives, adjust the chain length.

1. 4 Nm and turn 90° (¼ turn): replace

2. Chain tensioner: is under spring tension; before removing, lock with the "T40267" lock

3. Timing chain tensioner shoe

4. Guide bolt, 20 Nm

5. 4 Nm and turn 180° (½ turn): replace

6. Regulator valves, 35 Nm: left-hand thread; remove using the device "T10352/2"

7. Bearing caps

8. Regulator bar: camshaft drive chains

9. Camshaft housing

10. Camshaft drive chain: before removing, mark the direction of travel with a color mark

11. The stabilizer bar: the purposes of the camshaft drive

12. Guide bolt, 20 Nm

13. Three-stage sprocket: on the crankshaft

Both planes of the "arrow" must coincide.
