Screw adapter for dial gauge -T10170- or -T10170A- into spark plug hole. Fit indicator with extension -T10170A/1- as far as it will go and tighten clamp -arrow-. Slowly turn the crankshaft in the working direction of rotation to the maximum value indicated by the indicator. When the indicator arrow reaches the maximum mark (extremum point), the piston is at TDC".
Instruction. If the piston has passed "TDC", the crankshaft should be rotated another 2 turns. Do not turn the crankshaft in the opposite direction to the working one!
The notch on the crankshaft V-ribbed belt pulley and the mark on the lower timing chain cover must be opposite each other -arrow-.
The marks -1- of the camshaft sprockets must be opposite the marks -2 and 3- on the cylinder head.
Measure distance from edge -1- to mark -2- on exhaust camshaft sprocket. Nominal value: 74...0.77 mm. If the specification is reached, measure the distance between the mark on the exhaust camshaft sprocket -3- and the mark on the intake camshaft sprocket -4-. Nominal value: 124...0.127 mm.
Note: A shift of one tooth means a deviation from the nominal value of approx. 6 mm. If misalignment is detected, the timing chain must be reinstalled.
