Balance Shaft Idler Gear - Tightening Order
Carefully! Be sure to replace the balance shaft idler gear. Otherwise, the gear will run out - damage to the engine! The new intermediate shaft sprocket is varnished. Soon, this varnish will wear off, and the backlash of the teeth will automatically adjust due to this.
Tighten the new screw as follows.
- 1. Pre-tighten to 10 Nm.
- 2. Rotate the countershaft gear. The countershaft gear must not have play. Otherwise loosen and tighten again.
- 3. Then tighten to 25 Nm.
- 4. Use a hard wrench to tighten by 90° (¼ vol.). Check the marking on the intermediate shaft/balance shaft gear -arrow-.
