Remove the damper "3". Remove the balance shaft drive chain.

Installation
Turn the intermediate shaft sprocket and balance shaft with the marks "arrow" towards each other; do not loosen screw "1".
Note: The marks only overlap every 7 revolutions due to the gear ratio.
Place the balance shaft drive chain on their sprockets; the colored links of the drive chain "arrows" must be opposite the marks on the sprockets.

Install the chain tensioner shoe and tighten screw "3". Install the balance shaft chain tensioner "1". Install the camshaft drive chain.
Checking the length of chains
Remove the "arrow" plug.

Turn the pulley in the direction of engine rotation so that the chain tensioner piston is extended as far as possible in the "direction of the arrow". Count the visible teeth of the piston.
Note: All piston teeth to the right of the chain tensioner guard "arrow" are considered visible. If 7 or more teeth are visible: Replace the camshaft drive chain. If 6 or fewer teeth are visible, do not replace the drive chain.

Replace the plug.
