Caution! Regulator valves have left-hand threads.
Using the "T10352/2" tool, remove the regulator valves in the "direction of the arrow".

Unscrew the "arrow" screws and remove the bearing cover.

Using the "T10355" stop, turn the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley to the "TDC" position. The notch on the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley and the mark on the lower timing chain cover should be located opposite each other "arrow". The "1" marks on the camshaft sprockets should be located opposite the -2 and 3- marks on the cylinder head. Remove the lower timing chain cover.

Press the oil pump chain tensioner in the "direction of the arrow" and lock it with the "T40011" lock. Remove the oil pump chain tensioner "1".

Unscrew the "arrow" screws.

Screw in the lever "T40243" "arrow". Compress the locking ring "1" of the chain tensioner and hold it firmly. Slowly press the tensioner shoe with the lever "T40243" in the "direction of the arrow".

Lock the chain tensioner with the stopper "E40267". Remove the lever "T40243".

Lock the chain tensioner with the stopper "E40267". Remove the lever "T40243".

Remove the camshaft drive chain tensioner shoe "2". Ignore positions -1,3- and "T40267". Screw the camshaft lock -T40271/1 - into the cylinder head.

Using the "T40266" tool, turn the exhaust camshaft in the "direction of arrow 1" and push the "T40271/1" camshaft lock into the sprocket ring in the "direction of arrow 2".

Remove the upper damper "1", unlocking the lock with a screwdriver and pushing the damper forward.

Remove the camshaft drive chain damper "1". Remove the camshaft drive chain from the camshaft sprockets and hang it on the camshaft bushings "arrows".

Remove balance shaft drive chain tensioner "1". Remove tensioner shoe "2". Remove damper "4". Ignore item -3.

Unscrew the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley fastening screw. Remove the three-stage sprocket, removing the oil pump drive chain for this. Remove the camshaft drive chain.

Installation
Check the TDC position of the crankshaft, the "arrow" marks should be located opposite each other. Apply a mark on the cylinder block "1" using a waterproof marker,

Mark tooth "1" of the three-stage sprocket opposite mark "2" using a waterproof marker.

Turn the intermediate shaft sprocket and balance shaft with the marks "arrow" towards each other; do not loosen screw "1".
Note: The coloured links of the balance shaft drive chain must be aligned with the marks on the sprockets.

Place the balance shaft drive chain on their sprockets; the colored links of the drive chain "arrows" must be opposite the marks on the sprockets.

Hang the camshaft drive chain with the "arrow" marks on the camshaft bushings. Install the oil pump drive chain on the three-stage sprocket. Turn the three-stage sprocket in the "direction of the arrow" toward the engine and secure it to the crankshaft. The "arrow" marks should be located opposite each other.

Screw the "T10368" mandrel onto the crankshaft poly V-belt pulley using the "arrow" screw.

Place the colored link of the balance shaft drive chain "arrow" opposite the mark on the three-stage sprocket; install the chain tensioner shoe and tighten screw-1-.

Install the balance shaft drive chain damper and tighten the "arrow" screws.

Install the drive chain tensioner "1".

Check the adjustment again, the colored links of the chain should be located opposite the marks on the sprockets.

Note: The colored links of the drive chain must be aligned with the marks on the sprockets.
Place the chain on the intake camshaft sprocket. Place the chain on the exhaust camshaft sprocket. Place the chain on the crankshaft sprocket and hold it firmly.

Install the timing chain tensioner shoe and tighten screw "2". Install the camshaft timing chain guide and tighten screws "1".

Install the upper "arrow" damper.

Using the "T40266" tool, turn the exhaust camshaft in the "direction of arrow 1", push the "T40271/1" camshaft lock out of the sprocket ring in the direction of arrow 2 and release the camshaft. Remove the "T40271/1" camshaft lock.

Using the "T40266" tool, turn the intake camshaft in the "direction of arrow 1", push the "T40271/2" camshaft lock out of the sprocket ring in the "direction of arrow 2" and release the camshaft. Remove the "T40271/2" camshaft lock.

Screw in and tighten the "arrow" screws. Push on the bearing cover and tighten the "arrow" screws by hand. Remove the "T40267" lock. Tighten the "arrow" screws of the bearing cover. Install the regulator valves "pos. 6".
Installation in reverse order. Install the lower timing chain cover. Install the upper timing chain cover. Adapt the chain lengths as follows. Switch on the ignition and select the tester. Press the following buttons on the display in turn: 01 - Engine electronics, 01 - Guided functions, 01 - Basic setting, 01 - Adaptation after work on the chain drive.
