The camshaft of the 1.0 liter, 37 kW and 1.4 liter, 50 kW gasoline engines is driven by a chain.
Attention! The chain must be changed complete with the gears of the crankshaft and camshaft.
Attention! If the chain is not removed for replacement, it is necessary to mark the direction of its rotation, since when the direction of rotation is changed, the chain will wear out quickly.
1. Remove the alternator drive belt (see subsection 2.3).
2. Holding the crankshaft from turning, unscrew the bolt 18 and remove the alternator drive pulley 17.
3. Remove the engine oil sump (see subsection 3.1).
4. Turn away a bolt 14 fastenings of an arm of the receiver of the oil pump.
5. Turn away bolts 19 of fastening of a cover of 15 distribution gears and remove it with a lining 20 of a cover.
Attention! The timing gear cover gasket must be replaced with a new one.
6. Unscrew the bolt 23 of the fastening and remove the gear 22 of the oil pump drive.
7. Remove gears 21 and 26 together with chain.
8. Pick up the crankshaft gear (see subsection 2.6).
9. Put the chain on the gears so that 12 chain link axes are located between the marks on them, as shown in the figure. In this position, install the gears on the crankshaft and camshaft. Install the oil pump drive gear. Install the gear bolt after applying Loctite 648 to the bolt threads (1 - camshaft drive circuit; 2 - camshaft gear; 3 - crankshaft gear; And – a label on a gear wheel of a camshaft; B - mark on the crankshaft gear).
10. Install all removed parts in reverse order. Apply Loctite 242 to the threads of the timing gear cover before screwing in.
