Part A of Section 2 describes repairs that can be performed without removing the engine from the vehicle. If the engine has been removed for rebuilding, disregard the additional information that precedes each step.
Theoretically, pistons and connecting rods can be removed directly in the engine compartment (after removing the cylinder head and sump). However, it is not recommended to do this, since such procedures are much easier to perform on a removed engine; for this reason, all such tasks are classified as major repair procedures, and along with the procedures for removing the engine/transmission block from the vehicle and rebuilding the engine are described in Part B Section 2.
All specifications are given in beginning of the Section.
