This Part of Section 2 describes the procedures for removing the engine/transmission assembly from the vehicle and the basic procedures for rebuilding the cylinder head, cylinder block/crankcase and all internal engine components.
Information ranges from advice on preparing for an overhaul and purchasing spare parts, to step-by-step procedures for removing, inspecting, rebuilding and installing internal engine components.
After Chapters 5, all instructions are based on the assumption that the engine has been removed from the vehicle. For information regarding in-vehicle engine repair, as well as removal and installation of external components, see Chapters 1-13 Section 2A and in Chapter 5 this Part of the Section.
