Vehicle Identification Numbers (Skoda Felicia)

Improvement of manufactured products is a continuous process of any flow production. At the same time, except for cases of major design changes of models coming off the conveyor, the details of the modification are not covered in the vehicle operating manual. However, the manufacturer issues numbered lists of manufactured spare parts, due to which the information encoded in the identification numbers of the vehicle is of particular importance when purchasing such parts. When ordering the necessary spare part, try to provide the seller with as much information about your vehicle as possible. Be sure to provide the model name, year of manufacture, as well as the body and powertrain numbers.



There are five information plates attached to the front hood lock panel of the vehicle with the following information:

• 1 - Sign: "Caution! High voltage!" Safety precautions must be observed when working with the ignition system.
• 2, 3 - Information labels with information about VIN numbers, engine, production date, permissible loads on the front and rear axles, paint coating code, model modification, etc.
• 4 - Inscription: "Fan". Precautions must be taken when working near the fan impeller blades.
• 5 - The value of the base angle of installation of the headlamps

The chassis number is stamped on the flap of the right wing in the engine compartment of the car and consists of 17 positions. The first three positions are information about the geographical area, country and manufacturer. The next six characters contain information about the modification, engine type, gearbox, final drive, etc. The tenth position is the model year code according to the VW classification from 1.09 to 31.09 (S - 1995, then alphabetically). The eleventh position is a reserve. The last six digits are the serial number of the body.
