During the check, the condition and proper functioning of the engine management system are assessed using special diagnostic equipment. An electronic reader is connected to a special diagnostic connector, which allows you to query the memory of the electronic control unit (ECU) for the presence of fault codes.
2. Strictly speaking, the real need to carry out this check arises only if there is a suspicion of a malfunction.
3. Some of the rather serious malfunctions of the engine management system may remain unnoticed by the owner for a long time. In case of certain failures, the system simply switches to emergency mode, the decrease in engine efficiency in which is sometimes practically unnoticeable and only manifests itself during a cold start.
