Fuel injection quantity equalizer (IMA code)
The purpose of function "pump flow equalization (plunger) sections (IMA)" of the engine control unit with a common rail system is to individually adjust the amount of fuel injected for each engine cylinder in the range of the entire data field, thereby smoothing out differences in the fuel dosing of individual pumps (plunger) sections, due to deviations that arose during their release.
At each pumping station (plunger) the section contains a factory-marked IMA code (1), shown in the figure below.
After replacing the pump (plunger) sections must be recorded in the engine control unit "IMA code" of the new pump (plunger) sections.
After replacing the engine control unit, it is necessary to record the "IMA codes" of all pumps (plunger) sections into the new control unit.
Note: Check all other pumps at the same time (plunger) sections to determine if their IMA codes are entered correctly. If the correct IMA codes are entered into the engine control unit, they should not be re-entered under any circumstances.
