Contactless ignition is solved by dividing the high voltage. Two twin ignition coils with an integrated ignition element are connected to the corresponding output stage in one block and supply two spark plugs. In this way, the ignition of the first and fourth cylinders is connected, and the second pair serves the second and third cylinders. This ensures that the ignition sequence in the individual cylinders is maintained.

To detect "detonation ignition" on the engine crankcase (from the suction side) two detonation sensors are attached. One sensor detects detonation from the first and second cylinders, the second detonation sensor - from the third and fourth cylinders. The system "learns" when the engine is not knocking to distinguish the normal noise of individual cylinders. Therefore, if detonation occurs during (subsequently) ignition in any cylinder, the ignition point will be reset back by 3° of crankshaft rotation. This later setting is discretely cancelled again when detonation disappears. At most, the ignition point can be reset further by 15° of crankshaft rotation.
