2. Remove storage shelf and armrest.
3. Loosen the adjusting nut (3), disconnect the cables (1) parking brake drive from the leveling clamp (2).
4. Remove the wheel.
5. Raise the car.
6. Unlock the parking brake cable from the mountings on the rear axle and body (arrows), as shown in the figure below.
7. Remove the brake drum (vehicles with drum brakes).
8. Disconnect the parking brake cable from the parking brake lever (vehicles with drum brakes).
9. Remove the parking brake cable from the brake shield (vehicles with drum brakes).
10. Move the parking brake lever in the direction of the arrow and disconnect the parking brake cable from it, as shown in the figure below.
11. Compress the parking brake cable clamps and remove the cable from the mounting bracket, as shown in the figure below.
12. Remove the brake cable (2) towards (arrows) from guide tube (1), as shown in the figure below.
13. Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
Note.
- The position for assembling the brake cables for vehicles with drum brakes is the same as for vehicles with disc brakes (only the drum brake mechanism is presented).
- The cables of the parking brake system are hooked into the clamps.
- clamping ring (arrow A) on the parking brake cable must be located in the middle of the clamp (arrow B), as shown in the figure below.
14. Adjust the parking brake lever.
Note. Before adjusting the parking brake system, lightly preload the parking brake cable with the adjusting nut near the equalizing collar.
