Removing
Note. To avoid injury and burns, before starting any work related to the removal of fuel system elements, it is necessary to first disconnect the electrical wiring harness connector (arrow) shown in the figure below, from the fuel pump module.
Attention. The engine power system is under high pressure. Therefore, before disconnecting the nozzles and hoses, they must first be wrapped with a clean rag. Depressurize the fuel line by loosening the union nut very slowly.
1. Unlock the quick connector and disconnect the fuel supply pipe (2). shown in the figure below. Collect the fuel flowing from the pipe. Disconnect the fuel drain line (1).
2. Remove the air filter housing assembly.
3. Disconnect wiring harness connectors (arrows) from all fuel injectors as shown in the figure below.
4. Remove the fuel injector wiring harness conduit.
5. Unscrew the bolts securing the fuel rail to the intake manifold.
6. Remove the fuel rail assembly with fuel injectors from the intake manifold.
7. Disconnect, pulling in the direction of the arrow, the clamp, and then disconnect the fuel injector from the fuel rail, as shown in the figure below.
8. Installation is made in reverse order to removal.
Replace O-rings on all fuel injectors. Apply a thin coat of fresh engine oil to the O-rings before installing in the intake manifold.
Make sure the fuel injector clamps are secure.
Install the fuel rail assembly with the fuel injectors to the intake manifold. Install and tighten the fuel rail mounting bolts to a torque of 7 Nm.
Remove air from the supply system.
