Removing
1. If the car radio unit has a security code, disable the code temporarily and enter it after connecting the battery; see manufacturer's instructions.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Removal and installation procedures may differ depending on the type of car radio installed, but you can use one of the following procedures (see illustrations).
- A) If the unit has stops on each edge of the front panel, gently pry them out and remove the screws. Press the mounting brackets to release the block; working through the opening in the panel, push the block out. Disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna cable and remove the unit.
- b) If the unit has two holes on each edge of the bezel, two special tools can be used to remove the machine. Tools can be made from a welding electrode 3 mm thick. Push in the tools on the left and right side of the box, remove the box, and disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna.
Installation
4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
