Removal
1. If the car radio unit has a security code, temporarily deactivate the code and enter it after connecting the battery; see manufacturer's instructions.
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Removal and installation procedures may differ depending on the type of car radio installed, but you can follow one of the following procedures (see illustrations).
- a) If the unit has stops on each edge of the front panel, gently press them out and remove the screws. Press the mounting brackets to release the unit; working through the panel opening, push the unit out. Disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna cable and remove the unit.
- b) If the unit has two holes on each edge of the front panel, two special tools can be used to remove the unit. The tools can be made from 3 mm thick welding electrode. Push the tools into the left and right sides of the unit, remove the unit and disconnect the wiring connectors and antenna.

4. Install in the reverse order of removal.
