Removing
1. Remove rear door interior trim panel (Section 11).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
3. Remove the wiper arm and brush (Chapter 25).
4. Loosen the spindle housing nut, then remove the washer and seal, noting their location.
5. Remove the nuts and bolts securing the motor brackets (photo).
6. Remove the motor from the back door, and disconnect the electrical wiring (photo).
Installation
7. If a new motor is installed, please note that wiring changes have been made to models since 1992. A late modification motor can be installed on early models without problems, and when installing an early modification motor on late models, consult a Skoda dealer.
8. Install in the reverse order of removal. If the nut or bolt holding the end bracket to the motor has been disturbed, do not overtighten it - it should be slightly tighter than by hand. Secure the mount with paint or blocking compound. On later models, a modified bracket is used.
