16. Prepare a sufficient amount of the specified Specifications coolant (see below), taking into account the reserve for topping up.
17. Slowly fill the system to the required level.
18. Start the engine and let it idle (no more) until it warms up to normal operating temperature and the radiator fan comes on.
19. Turn off the engine and let it cool down, then top up the coolant level. Replace the filler cap and wipe off any spilled coolant.
20. After filling, always carefully check the weight of the system components (especially those that were disturbed during draining and rinsing) for coolant leaks.
Note: If, after draining the coolant and refilling the system, there are signs of overheating that did not occur previously, it is most likely due to air trapped in the system, which is forming a plug and restricting the flow of coolant: usually air is trapped because the system was filled too quickly. In most cases, air locks can be removed by squeezing or tapping the coolant hoses with the filler cap removed.
