Removal
1. Remove the central heating/ventilation switch panel, which is located above the heater control levers.
2. Remove the instrument panel to gain access to the right side of the heater unit (see Section 12).
3. Remove the glove compartment door and the glove compartment itself (see Section 11).
4. Unscrew the four mounting screws and remove the plate on the left side to gain access to the heater on this side (see photo 10.3a).
5. Unscrew the three screws securing the control panel, two upper and one lower (in the ashtray support plate).
6. Locate the fasteners and release the cables from them, then separate the cable from the control unit. To disconnect the blower mode switch and/or its wiring, see Chapter 11 of this Section.
7. Remove the control unit.
Installation
8. Install in reverse order. Make sure the wiring and cables are secure. Make sure the heating and ventilation control flaps move freely from stop to stop before installing the control panel, glove compartment and instrument panel.
