1. The proper functioning of the brake system vacuum pump can be checked using a vacuum gauge.
2. Disconnect the vacuum tube from the pump. Connect a vacuum gauge to the released fitting using a piece of suitable hose.
3. Start the engine and let it idle for a while, then measure the vacuum developed by the pump. Approximately, after a minute, the vacuum depth should be about 500 mm Hg. At significantly lower values, the pump is faulty and needs to be replaced - contact the Skoda service center specialists for help.
4. Restorative repair of the vacuum pump is not possible due to the lack of necessary spare parts for individual sale. In case of failure, the entire assembly should be replaced.
