Removing
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Drain the engine oil.
3. Park the vehicle on a level, level surface, paved if possible. Set the parking brake and chock the rear wheels.
4. Jack up the front of the car and place it on jack stands.
5. Moving along the perimeter of the pallet, loosen and unscrew the fixing bolts in several stages (to release the two bolts located on the transmission side, you need a cardan drive to the socket wrench).
6. Having tapped a palm, separate the pallet from the block of cylinders and take it from under the car. Remove and discard the old gasket. If an oil deflector is provided, its removal becomes possible only after dismantling the oil pump.
7. Take this opportunity to check the condition and patency of the tube and strainer of the pump oil intake. Remove the pump if necessary (see Section Removal and installation of the oil pump and oil intake assembly) and clean (or replace) mesh filter.
Installation
1. Thoroughly clean the mating surfaces, completely removing the remnants of the old gasket material or sealant from them. Then wipe the surfaces with a cloth soaked in acetone.
2. After making sure that the mating surfaces of the sump and cylinder block are absolutely clean and dry, lubricate them with a layer of sealant.
3. Lay a new gasket on the mating surface, then press the pallet against the block and screw in the mounting bolts. In several steps, evenly tighten the pallet fasteners to the required torque.
4. Fill the engine with the required amount of engine oil of the required grade (see chapter Current service).
5. Connect the negative cable to the battery.
