Note: Necessary tools, measuring instruments and auxiliary equipment
- Jack for engines and transmission units "VAG 1383A".
- Fastening belt "T10038".
- Fastening "T10149".
Note:
- All bolts on silent block components must be fully tightened when the suspension is installed in a position corresponding to the vehicle's curb weight (the car is not loaded).
- Rubber-metal hinges (silent blocks) have a limited working range of twisting.
- Therefore, the suspension must take a position corresponding to the vehicle's curb weight (the car is not loaded).
- Otherwise, internal stress will arise in the silent block, which will lead to a reduction in the service life of this part.
- The working position of the suspension can be simulated on a lift by raising the suspension on one side using a jack for engines and transmission units - VAG 1383 A - and a support mount "T10149". Before raising the suspension of the corresponding wheel, it is necessary to secure the car with belts "T10038" on the console arms of the lift on both sides.
Caution: Otherwise, it may slip off the lift!
1. Turn the hub so that one of the holes for the wheel bolt is at the top.
2. Screw the support mount "T10149" with a wheel bolt.
3. Final tightening of the corresponding bolts/nuts should be carried out only after reaching the dimension -a- between the center of the wheel hub and the lower edge of the wheel arch.
1. Belt "T10038"
4. Measure dimension "a." Dimension "a" depends on the installation height for a given chassis design:
| Chassis1) | Installation height "a", mm |
| Sports suspension, (G03/G09), front/all-wheel drive | 465±10 mm |
1)The vehicle data sticker contains information about the chassis design. The chassis design is indicated by the assembly code. Information on the correspondence of equipment codes to chassis versions.

5. Raise the wheel bearing housing using the engine and transmission jack -VAG 1383 A- until dimension "a" is reached.
Attention:
- Do not raise or lower the vehicle while the engine and transmission jack is under the vehicle.
- Do not leave the engine and transmission jack under the vehicle longer than necessary.
6. Tighten the appropriate bolts/nuts securely.
7. Lower the wheel bearing housing.
8. Remove the engine and transmission jack from under the vehicle.
9. Remove the support mount "T1D149".
