Oil pan — removal and installation (Skoda Kodiaq NS7)

1. Drain the engine oil into a pre-prepared container.

2. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1) for the engine oil temperature and level sensor, as shown in the figure below.

3. Unscrew the mounting bolts in the sequence from 19 to 1, shown in the figure below.

4. At the point indicated by the arrow, place a screwdriver and, using lever movements, disconnect the oil pan from the engine crankcase.

5. Remove the oil pan assembly. If necessary, lightly tap the oil pan with a rubber mallet to facilitate its removal.

Caution: Seal all openings and channels in the lubrication system to prevent foreign particles from entering the lubrication system.

6. Spray a special solvent onto the mating surfaces of the crankcase and oil pan.

7. Remove any remaining sealant from the mating surfaces.

8. Wash and dry the mating surfaces.

Note: Check the expiration date of the sealant.

9. Cut the end of the tube of sealant to form a hole with a diameter of 2 mm, as shown in the figure below.

Note: Avoid applying a bead of sealant with a larger diameter than specified below.

10. Apply a 2-3 mm diameter bead of sealant to the mating surface of the oil pan as shown in the figure below (arrow).

Note: The oil pan must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the sealant.

11. Install the oil pan on the lower part of the engine crankcase. Tighten the mounting screws to the required tightening torque in the specified sequence.
