Removal and installation



1. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the air conditioning compressor assembly from the mounting bracket. Do not disconnect the refrigerant line hoses from the compressor. Suspend the air conditioning compressor using a suitable piece of wire.

2. Remove the oil pan assembly and oil pump (for more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).

3. Unscrew the mounting bolts (arrows) of the upper part of the crankcase to the gearbox, as shown in the figure below.

4. Unscrew the mounting bolts shown in the figure below in sequence from 19 to 1.

5. Disconnect the lower part of the crankcase from the engine.

6. Remove the oil deflector plate assembly.

Note:
  • Replace the mounting bolts, which must be tightened additionally to a certain angle.
  • Always replace gaskets, sealing rings and self-locking nuts after disassembly.


7. Check the oil passages in the lower part of the engine crankcase and in the cylinder block.



8. Remove any remaining engine oil and sealant from the mating surfaces.

Note: Check the manufacturing date of the sealant.


9. Cut the sealant dispenser to create a 2mm diameter hole as shown in the figure below.

10. Apply a 2-3 mm diameter bead of sealant to the mating surface of the engine crater (arrow) as shown in the figure below.

Caution: Do not apply sealant with a roller diameter larger than the specified size. Otherwise, excess sealant may enter the lubrication system channels and block the flow of engine oil.


Note: The lower crankcase must be installed within 5 minutes of applying the sealant.

11. Check and ensure that the guide pins (2) shown in the figure below are installed in the cylinder block.



12. Install the gasket (1) shown in the figure below onto the cylinder block.

13. Install the lower part of the engine crankcase onto the cylinder block, then install and tighten the mounting bolts to the required tightening torque.
