Precautions when working with a car clutch

1. Use the recommended brake fluid to add to the clutch reservoir.

2. Do not reuse brake fluid drained from the hydraulic clutch system.

3. Do not allow brake fluid to come into contact with paintwork surfaces.

4. Use fresh brake fluid to clean or flush the master and slave cylinder parts of the clutch.

5. Do not use mineral solvents of petroleum origin, such as gasoline or kerosene, as they destroy the rubber parts of the hydraulic system.

6. Replace the clutch slave cylinder with a new one each time the gearbox assembly with the final drive is removed from the vehicle.

7. Do not disassemble the clutch master and slave cylinders.

Caution: Use only a vacuum cleaner to clean the clutch disc. Do not use compressed air.

Attention:
  • After each replacement of the gearbox assembly with the final drive, replace the clutch slave cylinder with a new one.
  • Return the clutch slave cylinder to its original position in order to remove the gearbox assembly with the final drive. Dust from the working surface of the clutch disc can damage the slave cylinder seal, which will lead to leakage of clutch hydraulic fluid.
  • Do not reuse drained transmission fluid.
  • Checking the level and changing the transmission oil must be performed on a flat horizontal surface.
  • When removing or installing, ensure that no dirt or dust gets inside the gearbox.
  • Before installing the part, make sure it is in the correct position. When applying alignment marks, ensure that they do not interfere with the operation of the parts.
  • Tighten the bolts or nuts gradually in several approaches, diagonally, from the inside out. If a tightening sequence is indicated, use it.
  • Take care not to damage the contact or friction surfaces.
