Compression check (Skoda Octavia 5E)

Engine oil temperature is about 80°C. Battery voltage is not lower than 12.5 V. Remove the upper engine cover. Disconnect the electrical connector from the fuel pressure regulator "N₂76" "pos. 2". -Position 1- ignore.

To relieve fuel pressure in the fuel rail, run the engine briefly. Remove all glow plugs. Screw in an adapter instead of the corresponding glow plug "V.A.G 1763/8" and connect the compression gauge "V.A.G 1763".

Ask the 2nd mechanic to turn the engine crankshaft with the starter until the instrument readings stop increasing. Repeat this for each cylinder.

Installation

Installation in reverse order. Install glow plugs in the appropriate cylinders. Interrogation and deletion of errors from the event recorder of the engine control unit.
