Remove left coolant pipes. Unscrew bolts -arrows-, push fuel lines slightly forward. Unplug connector -2- at Hall sender -G40-. -Position 1- ignore.
For vehicles with engine code CRKB
Disconnect connector -2-.
All
Remove screw -1- and loosen screw -2-.
Remove screw -1- and remove clamping sleeve. Loosen screw -2- and remove screws -arrows-. Press the exhaust gas aftertreatment module back slightly.
Loosen screws securing camshaft housing in sequence -18...1-. Remove the screws, carefully separate the camshaft housing where it is glued and remove the camshaft housing.
Installation
The crankshaft is secured with crankshaft lock -T10490-.
The camshaft hub is secured with the injection pump retainer -3359-. The screw is in but not tightened.
Carefully! Danger of contamination of the lubrication system and bearings. Open parts of the engine must be covered.
Remove sealant residue from the bearing frame and cylinder head with a chemical sealant thinner. Clean and degrease mating surfaces.
Note: The sealant must not be expired (see expiry date).
Cut off the tip of the sealant tube at the mark located on its end (hole diameter should be approximately 1.5 mm).
Carefully! Excess sealant can clog the camshaft bearings. The thickness of the sealant layer must not exceed the prescribed one.
Apply a bead of sealant -arrow- to the cleaned cylinder head mating surfaces as shown. Sealant strip thickness: 2 mm.
Note: The camshaft housing must be installed within 5 minutes after applying the sealant. After installing the camshaft housing, allow the sealant to cure for about 30 minutes.
Position the camshaft housing carefully on the cylinder head, paying attention to the position of the locating pins. Tighten the camshaft housing screws.
Installation in reverse order. Install exhaust gas aftertreatment module, Install camshaft oil seal. Install cylinder head cover. Install toothed belt (adjust valve timing).
Carefully! Risk of damage to valves and piston crowns after working on the valve train. The hydraulic lifters must have time to compress, so after installing the camshafts, it is forbidden to start the engine for about 30 minutes. To make sure that no valves come into contact with the piston crown when starting the engine, carefully turn the crankshaft at least 2 revolutions.
