Caution! If mechanical defects of the turbocharger are detected, such as the destruction of the compressor wheel, it is not enough to simply replace the turbocharger. To avoid subsequent damage, it is necessary to perform the following work. Clean all oil lines and hoses, Change the engine oil and oil filter, Check the air filter housing, filter element and air intake hoses for contamination. Check for foreign bodies in the intake tract and intercooler. If found, remove them from the intake tract, replace the intercooler if necessary.
Drain the coolant. Remove the exhaust gas inlet pipe with the catalytic converter. Remove the air filter housing. Remove the lambda probe "G39". Loosen the clamp "2". Unscrew screw -1, slightly press the left air duct to the left and disconnect it from the turbocharger.
Disconnect the cooling system hose "arrow". Disconnect connectors -1 and 2-. Open the holder "3".
Unscrew screw "1" of the ground wire, disconnect the "arrow" connector and put the wiring harness aside. Loosen clamp "2" and disconnect the cooling system hose.
Unfasten the "arrow" retainer and remove the wire fastening "4" from the bracket by moving it upwards. Unscrew the screws -1, 2, 3- and move the coolant pipeline to the side.
Remove the actuators of the camshaft adjuster "arrows".
Unscrew the nut "1" and unscrew the screws "arrows". Remove the heat shield "2".
Unscrew screw "1", only loosen screw "3". Disconnect bracket "2" of turbocharger.
Disconnect connectors -1 and 3-. Press the clamps of the crankcase ventilation hose "2" and disconnect the hose.
Unscrew screws "1" and remove the fitting. Unscrew screws -2 and 3- and remove the feed and return oil lines.
Unscrew the nuts "arrows". Pull off and remove the turbocharger from the cylinder head with an upward movement.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Replace the self-locking nuts, as well as the lip seals, O-rings and gaskets. Apply high-melting grease to the threads of the turbocharger studs. Fill the exhaust turbocharger with engine oil through the connecting pipe of the oil supply line. Before installation, the hose fittings and the air-supply system hoses must be cleaned of oil and degreased. Secure all hose connections with the appropriate serial clamps.
Install the exhaust manifold with the catalytic converter. Adjust the position of the exhaust system components (install without stress). Fill with coolant. Check the oil level.
Note: After installing the turbocharger, let the engine idle for about 1 minute and do not increase the crankshaft speed to ensure oil supply to the turbocharger.
