Remove lock washers -2 and 3- (lock washers -1 and 4- are now missing), the gearshift drive cable and the gear selector cable should be picked up and removed from the gearshift lever, if necessary, with the selector lever, for example, with a screwdriver.
Remove the gear shift lever.
Note: Hold the gearshift lever "2". Press the spacer sleeve "3" in the direction of the arrow. Remove the lock washer "1".
Move the upper lever of the pressure spring "A" over the projection of the selector angle. Use a screwdriver to press the retaining clips of the support insert "see arrows" in the "direction of the arrow" (the clamps may break).
Separate the bearing insert "A" and the gear shift lever guide "B" from the gear shift mechanism housing. Remove the bearing insert "A" from the gear shift lever guide "B".
Press the lower lever of the pressure spring "see arrow 1" towards the ledge of the selector angle.
Note: When removing the gearshift lever guide, do not damage the guides "A". Lower lever of the pressure spring (see arrow 1) may subsequently jump off the selector angle ledge in an uncontrolled manner.
Remove the gear lever guide from the gearshift housing by moving up "see arrow 2".
Assembly
Insert the gear shift lever guide into the gear shift mechanism housing and at the same time insert the lower lever of the pressure spring "B" and the upper lever of the pressure spring "A" into the guides.
Note: For clarity, the selector angle is only partially shown.
Install the selector triangle all the way in the "direction of arrow 1" and press the ball pin of the gearshift lever guide into the square of the selector "see arrow 2".
Note: When installing, take care not to damage the guides "A" and tongues "B".
Place the gearshift housing or the gearshift lever guide using the press-in support "T10083" so that this guide goes out of the gearshift housing as far as possible. Slide the upper lever of the pressure spring "A" through the protrusion of the selector angle. Press the new support insert "B" (lubricated with grease "G 000 450 02") until it stops on the sphere of the gearshift lever guide. Remove the gearshift mechanism housing from the press-in support "T10083". Insert the upper lever of the pressure spring "A" into the guide. Press the support insert "B" in the "direction of the arrow" until it stops in the gearshift mechanism housing (all support insert locks should click into place audibly). Install the gear shift lever.
Secure the gear shift cable and gear selector cable to the gear shift housing with lock washers -2 and 3-. Press the gear shift cable and gear selector cable onto the gear shift lever and selector lever in the gear shift housing (lock washers -1 and 4- are now missing). Secure the seal and the shift pad by pressing the "see arrows" tabs. Set the switching mechanism.
