Fastening the gearbox drive cables
1 – gear shift cable; 2 – gear selection cable; 3 – cable end retaining ring; 4 – retaining ring; 5 – mechanism body; 6 – drive cable bracket; 7 – pillow; 8 – spacer bushings; 9 – bracket mounting bolt; 10 – cable tip; 11 – axle retaining ring; 12 – axle bushing; 13 – gear selector lever; 14 – lever axis; 15 – slider; 16 – gear shift lever; 17 – nut
1. Remove the gear shift actuator from the vehicle (see subsection 7.1.2.5).
2. Pull up the gear shift lever 3 while simultaneously pressing the sleeve 4 down until it stops (overcoming the resistance of spring 1), and remove the released retaining ring 2 from the lever.
3.Remove from lever 12 (see figureGear shift mechanism parts) spring 3 with bushings 2 and 4.
4. Bend back the fastening tabs and remove the gearshift mechanism cover 22.
5. Remove the retaining rings 4 (see the figure Fastening the transmission drive cables), fastening cables 1 and 2 to the body 5 of the mechanism.
6. Remove the retaining rings 25 (see figure Gear shift mechanism parts) and disconnect the cables 23 and 24 of the drive from the intermediate gear engagement lever, which is made in one piece with the guide 9 of the gear shift lever and the intermediate gear selection lever 20.
7. Loosen the fastening bolt 21 and remove the intermediate gear selection lever 20 from the axle 17 and the ball pin of the guide 9 of the gear shift lever.
8. Remove the retaining ring 28 from the intermediate gear selector lever shaft.
9. Remove the ends of the return spring 19 from the ball pin of the guide 9 of the gear shift lever.
10. Remove axle 17 with spring 19 from the opening in the mechanism housing.
11. Remove axle bushings 15 and 27.
12. Remove guide sleeve 18 with spring 19 from the axle.
13. Remove spring 19 from guide sleeve 18.
14. Unscrew the two mounting bolts 5 and remove the hinge cover 6.
15. Having squeezed the sleeve 7 of the joint, remove it together with the gear shift lever 12 from the housing 14 of the mechanism.
16. Remove guide 9 from gear shift lever 12.
17. Remove noise-insulating washer 10 from gear shift lever 12.

18. Move the sleeve 7 of the joint apart and remove it from the ball surface of the guide 9.
19. Remove the joint insert 8 from the cage 7.
20. Remove rubber buffer 13.
21. Replace damaged or worn parts.

22. Assemble and install the gearshift mechanism in the reverse order of disassembly. In this case, install the return spring 1 as shown in the figure. After installation, adjust the gear shift drive (2 – rubber buffer; 3 – ball pin of the gear shift lever guide).
