Note.
  • Necessary special devices, control and measuring instruments, as well as auxiliary means:
  • Hinged wrench 24 "T40175".
  • Test device for checking oil pressure.
  • Voltage tester (semiconductor diode test lamp), -VAG 1527 B-.
  • Auxiliary set of measuring wires, "VAG 1594 C".
  • Diagnostic, measuring and information system "VAS 505X".

Note:

Conditions of implementation:
  • Engine oil level is normal;
  • Coolant temperature is at least 80°C (the additional cooling fan has operated at least once).

1. Remove the cylinder head oil pressure drop switch-sensor (arrow) using the 24 mm "T40175" articulated wrench, as shown in the figure below.

1. Remove the cylinder head oil pressure drop…

2. Screw the oil pressure drop switch into the control and measuring device.

3. Screw the control and measuring device into the cylinder head instead of the oil pressure drop switch-sensor.

4. Connect the brown wire of the control and measuring device to the ground (-).

5. Connect the probe (voltage indicator) to the positive terminal of the battery and to the oil pressure drop switch. The LED must not be lit.

In case the light emitting diode is on

6. Replace the oil pressure drop switch-sensor "F1".

In case the LED does not light up

7. Start the engine and increase the rotation speed. At excess oil pressure of 0.03...0.07 MPa (0.3...0.7 bar) the LED of the tester should light up, otherwise replace the oil pressure drop switch.

8. Continue increasing the speed. At 2000 rpm and an oil temperature of 80°C, the excess oil pressure must be at least 0.2 MPa (2.0 bar). At higher speeds, the excess oil pressure must not exceed 0.7 MPa (7 bar).

8. Continue increasing the speed. At 2000 rpm and…
