Note.
- Necessary devices, special control and measuring devices, as well as auxiliary means:
- Oil pressure tester -VAG 1342-.
- Voltage tester (semiconductor diode test lamp), -VAG 1527 B-.
- Auxiliary measuring set, e.g. -VAG 1594 C-.
- Vehicle diagnostic, measuring and information system -VAS 5051-.
Note.
Conditions:
- The engine oil level is normal.
- Coolant temperature - at least 80°C (fan for additional cooling has worked at least once).
1. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (1), shown in the figure below, remove the oil pressure drop switch (2).
2. Screw the oil pressure drop switch into the gauge.
3. Screw the measuring device instead of the oil pressure drop switch into the cylinder head.
4. Attach the brown tester lead to «mass» (-).
5. Connect probe (voltage indicator) to the positive battery terminal and to the low oil pressure switch.
The light emitting diode must not light up.
If the light emitting diode lights up
6. Replace oil pressure drop switch -F1-.
If the light emitting diode does not light up
7. Start the engine and increase the speed slowly.
With an excess oil pressure of 0.03... 0.07 MPa (0.3...0.7 bar) the light emitting diode of the probe should light up: otherwise, the oil pressure drop switch must be replaced.
8. Continue to increase the speed. At 2000 rpm and at an oil temperature of 80°C, the excess oil pressure must be at least 0.2 MPa (2.0 bar). It is impossible that at a higher speed the excess oil pressure exceeds 0.7 MPa (7 bar). Tightening torque for oil pressure drop switch: 20 Nm.
