Note: If the vehicle is equipped with a driver's airbag, the steering wheel hub cap will have the word "AIRBAG" stamped on it.
Models not equipped with airbag
Removal
1. Set the front wheels of the vehicle in a straight-ahead position and lock the steering column.
2. Using a small flat-head screwdriver, gently pry the horn button out of the steering wheel hub. Disconnect the electrical connector and remove the button.
3. Loosen the steering wheel mounting nut. Remove the washer.
4. Mark the position of the wheel relative to the steering column shaft, then remove the wheel in the splined stud.
Note: If the wheel is tight and cannot be removed, rub it with your palm or tug it left and right while pulling it up.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:
- a) Before installation, set the steering column switch for the direction indicators to the center position, otherwise the indicators will not turn off automatically when you complete a turn;
- b) Ensure that the alignment marks applied during dismantling are correctly aligned. Tighten the steering wheel mounting nut strictly with the required force.
Models equipped with airbag
Warning: Before removing the steering wheel, read the safety warnings in Chapter On-board electrical equipment of this Guide.
Removal
1. Remove the airbag assembly (see Chapter On-board electrical equipment).
2. Set the front wheels of the vehicle to the straight-ahead position, then lock the steering column in this position by removing the key from the ignition switch.

3. Remove the mounting screw at the top of the lower steering column cover. Lower the cover, release it from its clips and remove it from the vehicle.



4. Follow the airbag unit wiring to the connector. Disconnect the connector so that the wiring can be removed along with the steering wheel.

5. Loosen the mounting nut, remove the washer and mark the position of the steering wheel relative to the column shaft.

6. Remove the steering wheel with the splined shaft journal. Be careful not to damage the wiring.
Note: If the wheel is tight and cannot be removed, rub it with your palm or tug it left and right while pulling it up.
Installation
Installation is carried out in reverse order. Please note the following points:
- a) Before installation, set the steering column switch for the direction indicators to the center position, otherwise the indicators will not turn off automatically when you complete a turn;
- b) Before installing the steering wheel, make sure that the front wheels of the car are in a straight-ahead position. Make sure that the mounting marks applied during dismantling are correctly aligned. Tighten the steering wheel mounting nut strictly with the required force;
- c) Check that the wiring is correct and that the airbag connector is securely connected. Only after making sure that everything is in order, proceed to install the steering column cover;
- d) Finally, reinstall the airbag assembly (see Chapter On-board electrical equipment).
