Removal
1. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery.
2. Remove the windshield wiper arm (see section Removal and installation windshield wiper arms).

3. Remove the protective cap from the drive motor spindle, then loosen the fastening nut and remove the washer and outer seal.

4. Remove the interior trim panel from the tailgate, then loosen the mounting screw and remove the catch loop. Carefully separate the insulating film from the door to provide access to the windshield wiper drive motor.



5. Unscrew the mounting bolts and remove the metal bracket installed above the door lock button.

6. Disconnect the electrical wiring, then loosen the mounting screw and remove the electric motor assembly from its seat. Remove the inner seal and washer from the motor spindle. Remove the ring bushing from the rubber support pad. Check the condition of the rubber components. Replace defective seals and support pad.

Installation
1. Place the washer and inner seal onto the electric motor spindle.
2. Place the motor assembly in its proper place, then install the ring bushing on the support cushion and screw in the mounting screw.
3. Place the outer seal and washer onto the spindle, then screw on and tighten the spindle nut securely.
4. Tighten the motor mounting screw securely, then connect the wiring.

5. Install the metal bracket on the door, tightening its fasteners securely.
6. Fix the insulation film and interior trim panel to the door.
7. Reinstall the windshield wiper arm (see section Removal and installation windshield wiper arms), then connect the negative cable to the battery.
