Checking the fuel heating valve (Skoda Fabia 6Y)

1.Disconnect from valve 4 (see figureFuel filter for a 1.9L, 74kW diesel engine vehicle) fuel heating hoses 1 and 5.

2. Remove the retainer 3.

3. Remove valve 4 from fuel filter 7.

4. Through the fitting to which hose 1 is connected, supply cold water (temperature below 15°C) to the valve – water should flow out of the valve through the lower fitting (which the valve is attached to the fuel filter). Then supply warm water (temperature above 31°C) to the valve – the valve should close and water should exit the valve through the fitting to which hose 5 is connected. If this does not happen, the valve is faulty and needs to be replaced.
