Removal the sealing ring (oil seal)
1. Remove the cable tightening the automatic transmission mode selector lever from the gearbox.
2. Remove the mounting nut (arrow) from the gear shift control shaft as shown in the figure below.
3. Carefully disconnect the lever (A) from the shift control shaft as shown in the figure below.
4. The sealing ring (oil seal) should be removed using lever movements, as shown in the figure below, using a special tool.
Installing the sealing ring (oil seal)
1. Lightly lubricate the new seal around the outer perimeter.
2. Fill the space between the working edges halfway with sealing grease (G 052 128).
3. Put on the new sealing ring until it stops. At the same time, the seal must not be allowed to become distorted.
Note:
- The inscription on the seal (arrow) must point outward (to the pressing tool), as shown in the figure below.
- We install the gear shift control shaft lever on the fine-spline connection in only one position.
4. After installing the gear shift control shaft lever, tighten it using the appropriate tightening torque.
5. Install the cable tightening of the selector lever on the gearbox, and then adjust it (for more details, see the relevant section in this chapter).
