Gearbox oil pump — removal (Skoda Kodiaq NS7)

1. Remove the lower protective cover of the engine compartment (for more details, see the corresponding section in the chapter "Body").

2. Remove the left front wheel.

3. Remove the left front wheel arch liner assembly (for more details, see the corresponding section in the chapter "Body").

4. Remove the protective sheet (A) from the bottom of the gearbox (arrows) as shown in the figure below; if it is installed.

5. Place a catch pan under the gearbox to collect the transmission oil.

Caution: Wear protective glasses.

6. Unscrew the transmission oil level check screw (B) in the gearbox, located near the rocker support, as shown in the figure below.

Note: Behind this threaded plug is a plastic bypass pipe with an 8 mm Allen key and a tightening torque of 3 N·m. The length of the bypass pipe determines the transmission fluid level; when replacing, select the correct part number.




7. Remove the bypass pipe. It will leak approx. 5.0 liters of oil. Leave the catch basin under the gearbox from now on.

8. After screwing on the bypass pipe, tighten it using the appropriate tightening torque.

Note: There is still oil in the transmission oil pump cover.


9. Unscrew the fastening screws (arrows), remove the transmission oil pump cover (A), as shown in the figure below.

10. Unscrew the mounting screws (arrows), remove the transmission oil pump (1) from the centering journals and from the drive shaft, as shown in the figure below.

Note: Ensure that the correct "arrow" screws are selected for reinstalling the transmission oil pump (1).
