Replacing the intermediate shaft seal (Skoda Felicia)

1. Remove the accessory drive belt (see section Removal, installation and adjustment of the tension force of the auxiliary drive belt).

2. Remove the auxiliary belt pulleys and the upper timing belt cover, then set the piston of the first cylinder to the TDC position at the end of the compression stroke and remove the timing belt with the tensioner and the intermediate shaft toothed wheel (see sections Bringing the piston of the first cylinder to the top dead center (TDC) position at the end of the compression stroke, Removal and installation the timing belt and its covers, Removal, condition check and installation of gears and timing belt tensioner).

3. Remove the intermediate shaft flange and replace the seals.

4. Install all components removed for access purposes and adjust belt tension.
