2. Remove the upper decorative engine cover.
3. Remove the air filter housing assembly (for more details, see the relevant section in the chapter "Intake and exhaust system").
4. Disconnect the negative terminal from the battery.
Caution: Hot steam may escape when opening the coolant expansion tank cap. Be extremely careful! Before unscrewing the cap, wrap it with a rag.
Models with a 2.0L TSI petrol engine
5. Disconnect the wiring harness connector (2) shown in the figure below.
6. Loosen the mounting screws (1) and disconnect the transmission cooling valve as shown in the figure below.

7. Using special tools (3094), clamp the transmission oil cooler water hoses as shown in the figure below.
8. Loosen the fastening clamps (arrows) and disconnect the water hoses from the cooler fittings, as shown in the figure below.
9. Loosen the mounting screws (A) and remove the transmission oil cooler (B) as shown in the figure below.
