Fuel tank filler cap (Skoda Octavia 1U)

The fuel tank filler neck, coming out on the right side, is equipped with a plug, and this in turn is closed by a plastic module with a lid and a sealed rubber cuff, sealing the neck in the body. The module cover, adjusted to the surface of the body, is made of plastic in the color of the car and is equipped with a spring that holds it in the folded position after opening. Modules with a lid are of two types.

On LX vehicles, the cap has a small lip that can be grasped by hand to open the cap. The cap is held closed by spring pressure and is never latched or locked in any other way. The filler cap has a patented key lock.

The GLX and SLX vehicles have a similar module with a cover, but the cover is smooth, without a protrusion. In the closed position, it is held by a latch. The latch is set to the working position by an electrical unit secured with two nuts on a holder welded to the fender liner. The wiring is connected using a two-pole connector. The latch is controlled by a push-button switch located on the dashboard console. In this version, there is no key lock on the filler cap.
