Removing and installing oil pressure drop sender -F378-
Detach canister solenoid valve 1 -N80- -3- from intake manifold and press valve downwards slightly. Disconnect connector -2-. Remove low oil pressure sender -F378- -1-.
Installation
Installation in reverse order.
Note: Replace sealing ring. To prevent large amounts of oil from escaping, a new low oil pressure sender -F378- must be fitted into the hole immediately.
Check oil level.

Checking the oil pressure and oil pressure sensor
Check oil level. Engine oil temperature not less than 80°С (The radiator fan should turn on at least once). Remove low oil pressure sender -F378-. Screw pressure gauge -VAG 1342- into hole for oil pressure switch. Screw low oil pressure sender -F378- into hole on pressure gauge -VAG 1342- to plug hole. Start the engine. Oil pressure at idle: not less than 0.06 MPa (0.6 bar). Oil pressure at 2000 rpm: not less than 0.15 MPa (1.5 bar). Oil pressure at 4500 rpm: not less than 0.28 MPa (2.8 bar).
Note: Low oil pressure can also be caused by mechanical damage, such as bearings.
If no fault is found: Replace oil pump.
Check low oil pressure sender -F378-
Stop the engine. Connect brown wire of oil pressure gauge -VAG 1342- to earth (-), Connect tester -VAG 1527B- with auxiliary cables from the set -VAG 1594C- to battery positive (+) and low oil pressure sender -F378-. The probe LED should be off. If the LED lights up, replace low oil pressure sender -F378-.
If the LED is off: start the engine: when the pressure reaches 0.03...0.06 MPa (0.3...0.6 bar) the LED should light up, otherwise replace the oil pressure sensor.
