Before disconnecting the coolant hose, turn expansion tank cap slowly to release pressure first. Place a lint-free rag on the transmission oil cooler and gearbox to catch any leaking coolant.

Disconnect connector -2-. Release screws -1- and detach gearbox coolant valve -N488-.
Further for all vehicles
Clamp the coolant hoses with hose clamps -MP7-602 (3094) -. Loosen clamps -arrows- and detach hoses from gearbox oil cooler.
Release screws -A- and remove transmission oil cooler -B-.
Carefully! Coolant must not drip onto the gearbox and into the lubrication holes!
Installation
Always renew O-rings -C- on transmission oil cooler -B-. Fit transmission oil cooler -B-, paying attention to O-rings -C-. Insert new screws -A- and tighten to the specified torque. Connect the hoses of the cooling system to the gearbox oil cooler and remove the clamps -MP7-602 from the hoses (3094) -.
Vehicles with 2.0l TFSI engine
Screw on coolant valve -N488- with screws -1-. Connect connector -2-.
Further for all vehicles
Install the battery and battery bracket. Install the air filter. Check coolant level, top up if necessary. Fill with transmission oil.
