Remove the lower soundproofing casing of the engine. Remove the left front wheel. Remove the front left wheel arch cover. Remove the protective cover -A- from the underside of the gearbox - see. arrows-; in the presence of. Install an oil collecting pan under the gearbox.
Unscrew the plug of the threaded hole for checking the oil level - see. arrow - next to the stabilizer bar.
Note: Behind this plug is a plastic overflow pipe, which can be tightened with an 8 mm Allen key to a torque of 3 Nm. The length of the overflow tube determines the oil level in the gearbox and the part number must be taken into account when replacing this tube.
Remove overflow tube. Runs out approx. 5.0 liters of oil. Leave a pan to collect oil under the gearbox. Screw on the overflow pipe and tighten to the specified torque.
Note: Some oil remains in the cover of the gear oil pump.
Loosen the screws - see arrows- and remove gear oil pump cover -A-.
Loosen the screws - see arrows- and remove the gear oil pump -1- from the locating pins and the pump input shaft.
Note: When doing this, pay attention to the location of the screws - see arrows - to reinstall the gear oil pump -1-.
Installation
Push the drive shaft -A- of the transmission oil pump into the gearbox as far as it will go, while turning the drive shaft slightly. Replace seal for gear oil pump -B- on gearbox. Both locating pins -C- must be in the gearbox housing.
Note: Observe shaft setting dimension -A- - approx. 23 mm.
If necessary, carefully remove metal filings from toothed disc -B-, do not demagnetize toothed wheel. Remove seal between transmission oil pump and gearbox. Clean the sealing surfaces of the transmission oil pump and gearbox. Insert a new seal between the gear oil pump and gearbox, if necessary, secure with gear oil.
Push transmission oil pump -1- onto input shaft, paying attention to toothed connection oil pump/ input shaft. Also make sure that the gear oil pump -1- is correctly positioned on the dowel pins of the gearbox housing.
Note: Pay attention to the presence of the different screws securing the gear oil pump, sequence and tightening torques.
Various transmission oil pump mounting screws, sequence and tightening torques. All 4 pan head screws - see arrows-: tightening torque 5 Nm and tighten by + 90° (¼ vol.). 3 pan head screws (lower), 1 countersunk screw (upper) -cm. arrow-: 3 pan head screws (lower): tightening torque 8 Nm + tighten by 90° (¼ vol.). 1 countersunk screw (upper) -cm. arrow-: tightening torque 8 Nm. Screw in new screws and then cross-tighten to the correct torque.
Install new gear oil pump cover -A- and tighten new screws -see illustration. arrows - in several stages by a given moment. Fill with transmission oil. Install the left cover assembly. Install the left front wheel arch cover. Install the lower engine soundproofing cover.
