Health check
1. Power is supplied to the fan through the ignition switch and fuse box; its circuit is closed by a thermal switch mounted on the radiator.
2. If the fan does not run, start the engine and allow it to warm up to normal operating temperature, then return it to normal idle. If the fan does not turn on for several minutes, turn off the ignition and disconnect the two wires from the thermal switch. Connect these two wires with a makeshift jumper wire and turn the ignition back on. If the fan now runs, the thermal switch is suspected to be defective and needs further testing (see chapter 6). If the fan still does not work, the fault lies either in its motor or in the associated electrical circuit (don't forget the fuse).
Removing
3. The fan is removed along with the radiator (see chapter 3).
4. Unscrew the four bolts securing the fan assembly from the radiator (two at the top and two at the bottom) and separate the fan together with its shroud (see photo).
5. To separate the fan from the casing, unscrew the three fixing nuts (see photo).
Installation
6. Install in reverse order.
