Note: After working on the hydraulic clutch actuator, the system must be bled. When carrying out the following work, make sure that brake fluid does not get into the gearbox. Preliminary removal of air from the system is not required! Before bleeding, fill the reservoir of the hydraulic brake drive with brake fluid up to the mark "max". Clutch pedal in free position, do not press.
Remove the air filter housing assembly if it interferes with access to the bleeder (-arrow- in the figure below).
Move the clutch pedal to the free position. Remove cap from bleeder valve -arrow-. Connect brake fluid filling and bleeding tool -VAS 5234- or -VAG 1869-. Connect the bleed hose and connect the pressure hose to the collection container. Use a vent hose to bleed if necessary (length 670 mm) -VAG 1238/B3-. Turn on the brake fluid filler and bleeder. Working pressure: 2.0 bar. Open the bleed valve. Let drain approx. 100 cm3 brake fluid. Close the bleed valve. Slowly press the clutch pedal from lock to lock 10-15 times. Open the bleed valve. Let it flow for another 50 cm3 brake fluid. Close the bleed valve. Turn off the brake fluid filler and bleeder and release the remaining pressure from the device. After the end of the bleeding process, press the clutch pedal several times. At the same time, control the operation of the clutch drive.
