Brake system specifications (Skoda Favorit)

System type — With vacuum booster. Front brakes are disc, rear — drum. The brake hydraulic line is divided into two diagonal circuits. The pressure in the rear brake units is regulated by special valves. The hand brake, controlled by a cable, acts on the rear wheels.

Type - Disc, with sliding caliper, actuated by a single piston cylinder

Disc thickness:

• New - 12.9 mm
• Minimum - 114 mm

Maximum disc runout - 0.15 mm

Brake pad thickness (including metal base):

• New - 17.5 mm
• Minimum - 8 mm

Minimum thickness of brake pad is 2 mm

Rear brakes

Type - Drum

Drum diameter:

• New - 200 mm
• Maximum - 201 mm

Maximum drum ovality is 0.10 mm

Brake pad thickness:

• New - 4 mm
• Minimum - 1 mm

Vacuum booster unit mounting nuts - 25-30

Nuts securing the master cylinder to the vacuum booster unit — 25-30

Brake pressure control valves (except Pickup models):

• Valve to master cylinder - 22-24
• End cap to valve body - 12

Front brake caliper:

• Guide Pin Bolts - 20-30
• Bolts for mounting the caliper bracket to the steering knuckle - 50-60
