Note: Although the pedal height check is done inside the vehicle, the adjustment is done in the engine compartment. This procedure is much easier if you have an assistant to help you.
1. While working in the passenger compartment, measure the length of the brake pedal drive rod protruding from the partition, i.e. the distance from the partition metal (as close to the rubber boot as possible) to the center of the pedal axis (see photo). The distance should be 84.5-86.5 mm.

2. If adjustment is necessary, go to the engine compartment and turn the threaded adjusting sleeve of the vacuum booster unit push rod in the desired direction (using a double-ended wrench), so as to achieve the correct pedal installation height (see photo).

3. Return to the driver's seat, firmly press the brake pedal several times, then recheck the pedal height.
4. If it is necessary to significantly change the pedal position to achieve the correct setting, check the clutch cable length adjustment (see Section 1) and the position of the brake light switch (see Chapter 26).
