6. Before starting this procedure, prepare clean rags and newspapers. Ideally, it is desirable to warm up the gear oil, it will flow out more easily. To avoid splashing and to prevent skin irritation, it is recommended to wear waterproof gloves when performing this work. Access to the back of the car will be greatly improved if the car is lifted, put on a flyover or jacked up. In this case, the car must be located horizontally, or so that the drain plug (installed at the base of the gearbox housing, below the drive shaft) was at its lowest point.
7. Using a wrench or suitable socket, loosen the drain plug a half turn. Place the container under the stopper, then remove the stopper completely. If possible, try to hold the plug on the last couple of turns before removing. When the plug is free, move it sharply to the side so that the flow of oil from the sump does not get on your hand! 8. Wait a while for the old oil to drain into a container.
9. Wipe the drain plug with a clean rag and, if necessary, replace the sealing washer. Clean the area around the hole and replace the plug. Clamp the plug securely.
10. To fill the gearbox, follow the refill instructions as described above.
