Exhaust manifold — removal and installation (Skoda Favorit)

Removal

1. Remove the intake manifold as described in the previous Chapter.

2. Unscrew the four mounting nuts and separate the outlet pipe from the manifold flange.

3. Remove the three nuts securing the air heater housing to the top of the exhaust manifold. Separate the air duct from the housing, then remove the housing (see illustration).



4. Unscrew the six mounting nuts and remove the manifold from the cylinder head (see illustration). Remove the gasket.

Installation

5. Install in reverse order. Make sure the gasket contact surfaces of the manifold and exhaust outlet pipe are clean and do not forget to install a new gasket (see illustration). Tighten the fastening nuts to the specified tightening torque Specifications.
